DIRECTIONS TO UNIQUE RETREATS IN WHITBY:
The majority of our visitors arrive by car and so directions below from all directions should enable you to arrive safely. We haven’t lost anyone yet !!
It’s really not that difficult to find us, thankfully, and directions are given below:

Ewelands House, Address: 44 Eskdaleside, Sleights, Whitby: Postcode: YO22 5EP.
Sleights: There are two routes depending on whether you are coming from the South or the North.

Coming from the South:
The easiest way to Unique-retreats are from the A1 heading North and taking the turn off for the A64 York bypass. Take the A64 past all the York exits (dual carriageway) and at the traffic lighted roundabout continue straight across still on the A64 which turns into a single carriageway. Follow this until the Pickering turnoff, which is the junction past the Malton turnoff.
Take the exit off the dual carriageway towards Pickering, sign posted Whitby/Pickering A169. As you leave the dual carriageway take the left turn to Pickering/Whitby and continue along the road until you reach Pickering. As you enter Pickering at the roundabout take the second exit, sign posted Whitby A169.
Continue over the moors, about 20 minutes or so, to Blue Bank, a steep descent which takes you into Sleights. After ‘The Plough’ pub which will be on your left, turn left onto the road called Eskdaleside, and sign posted to ‘Grosmont’.
The cottages/retreats are the last ones on the right hand side before you leave the village. If you reach Hermitage Way on the left hand side of the road, or Manor Farm on the right hand side you have gone too far.
The name of Ewelands House is written in stone over the black front door, and on a sign to the left of the front door.
At the edge of the car park for the cottages are 2 pigsties showing our sign of Unique-retreats at the car parking area side of them

Coming from the North:
From the A1: Take exit 57 on the left onto A66(towards Darlington/Teeside).
After 2.5 miles at the roundabout, take the first exit onto Bridge Road towards Darlington, Teeside. Follow for 0.7 miles and at the roundabout take the third exit onto A66 towards Teeside/Yarm. After 1.6 miles at the roundabout, take the second exit onto A66 towards Teeside. After 1.8 miles at the roundabout take the second exit onto A66 toward A1(M) Teeside. After 1 mile at the roundabout take the second exit onto A66. Follow for 12.5 miles and take the exit to Stokesley A172. Follow for ½ a mile at the roundabout take the first exit onto Longlands Road towards North Ormesby. Turn right onto Cargo Fleet Lane. Follow the A171 for about 23 miles, crossing and turning at various roundabouts etc until you reach the roundabout for the A169 sign posted Sleights and Pickering. Turn right onto the A169 and follow down the hill and over the River Esk and the railway and then up the hill entering Sleights village. On the left is a Church, turn right just pass the Church onto Eskdaleside, sign posted Grosmont.

Please note if you reach Hermitage Way on the left hand side of the road, or Manor Farm on the right hand side you have gone too far and have gone out of the village of Sleights.
Turn around and re enter the village. The sign of Sleights will be on your left hand side.
